It is actually a controlled vocabulary, comprising of '''5227 terms''', which covers general terminology and represents the vertical (hierarchical) and horizontal correlations between different concepts. For each term, its '''english translation''' is also available. The Thesaurus is mainly focusing on issues of Greek and European interest and aims at utilization by Hellenic Libraries and Information Centres. Medical terminology has been also developed and incorporated. The SWIGroup team of the High Performance Information Systems Laboratory (HPCLab) has developed the SKOS representation of the Thesaurus of Greek Terms.
